.. or two in this case!!

Entering into the Show Me Your Phobia Contest - This is quite obviously arachnophobia, a fear of spiders. I don't know many people who aren't even a little scared of spiders, but my fear of spiders has increased over the years and now even the smaller ones freak me out a little. If I see a big one, all that will remain of me in that room is a gust of wind, until the spider is gone!

I think you need to change what she is laying on. Or at least contextualize it. It is very flat, visually, atm.

Yeah I get what you mean, I'd love to have another go at this, but perhaps using cobwebs as the background. The only reason this curtain was used, as it was the only thing we could find to stop her from cutting herself on broken glass. It wasn't a planned shot.

If I were (still) arachnophobic, there's no way spiders would be anywhere near me!! Especially my nipples!! ;P

hahaa, that's why it's not me with the spiders on her nipples... even fake ones give me the jeebies. I was a bit nervous trying to set up the scene, even though I know they weren't real :D

they are not real, there's no way you'd get me setting up a shot like this with real ones! :D I'd be too sick to press the shutter.

Were those real spiders?

Me I like spiders, I'd have one as a pet, but if one were to jump at me, ya I'd prolly freak out a lil lol

The model looks like...well I was going to say a porcelain doll, but she looks more alive than that...and amazing skin!
The lighting looks great, you can see the little forboding shadows of the spiders. :D

Aww thanks very much, I'm glad you think so because the light was quite difficult to manage in that building! :D

The model is perfect, her skin couldn't be more flawless. I would have liked to have seen real spiders though. Love the colors. I also love that I can't tell whether her eyes are closed or open just enough to be looking at the spider. It's a beautiful photo.

I'm glad you like it, and yeah I agree it would be pretty awesome with real tarantulas or something (not sure whether the shot would come out focused, or whether I'd stay in the room - hahaa). This was one of those spontanious shots between costume changes on a different shoot, the model had brought some fake spiders with her to use just in case.

It could be more moving..
With an other framing, or an other background..
I don't know but it's a great idea :D

I'm not sure whether the image being more moving would work with this subject, it would may be counter productive.
